Security
Your team's data.
Kept that way.
Hours, pay rates, documents, and conversations are some of the most sensitive information a business holds. Here is how Vantage protects them.
Every workspace is isolated
Your company's data lives in its own workspace, walled off from every other company's. Each request is checked against the workspace on the signed-in user's account before anything is read or written.
Access follows the role
Owner, admin, manager, and employee roles decide what each person can see and change. Employees see their own records. Managers work within their own team.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Data travels over encrypted connections and is encrypted where it is stored. Vantage runs on Google Cloud infrastructure.
Sensitive actions run on the server
Changing a role, approving time off, and updating billing are handled by our servers, which check the request and the person making it. The app on a phone or a computer cannot skip those checks.
A record of who changed what
Records carry who created them, who last changed them, and when. Approvals keep the name of the reviewer.
Card details stay with Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers go directly to them and are never stored on our systems.
How we build
Security is part of the work.
It is built into how features are written and reviewed.
Access rules are tested
The rules that control who can read and write data are covered by automated tests, including tests that confirm access is denied when it should be.
Inputs are validated
Data is checked against a defined shape before it is saved, on the device and again on the server.
Least privilege
Each person gets the role their job needs and no more. Additional access is granted deliberately by an owner or admin.
Security questions.
Where is our data stored?
Vantage runs on Google Cloud. If you have specific data residency requirements, contact us before you sign up.
Can employees see each other's information?
Employees see the directory details your workspace shares, such as name, job title, and location. Pay, documents, time off, and hours are limited to the employee and to the roles that manage them.
What happens to access when someone leaves?
An admin suspends or removes the member. Their access to the workspace ends, and the company's records and conversations stay with the company.
How do people sign in?
With an email address and a password. Single sign-on is not available yet.
How do we report a security concern?
Use the contact page and choose Security as the topic. We read every report.
